Trump played the stage in the debates, acting like the schoolyard bully. Seeing someone bully the DC clowns on national television roped me in emotionally. I am personally not a fan big government. Watching the Wall Street Bully act in a non-political manner while debating his peers was something that many blue collared citizens can relate to. Trump was the voice to the politically mute. America was sick of government, sick of empty promises and sick of being lied to. I hit the “vote” button in November.
For the portion of the nation that felt ignored, Trump gave the attention. He visited disenfranchised towns and cities on an everyday basis. I think it’d be hard to deny that no other candidate campaigned as hard as Trump, but that means very little in the oval office. Did Trump run the race just to win? He got the job, but does he want to do it? With almost 100 days in, what has he done? Michael Moore talked of buyer’s remorse, stating that Trump voters would feel as if they made the wrong choice. Did you keep the receipt? If so, take it back and get a refund. We can’t do this here. I do not feel buyer’s remorse. I feel as if I purchased the same faulty item that I’ve purchased time and time again, but this time it was advertised as something else. I feel lied to and exploited, but what politician hasn’t lied or made empty promises to get elected? What politician prioritizes its constituents over corporate interest? I do not feel buyer’s remorse. I feel like I was scammed and shammed.
We heard things like, “America first!” and “We must work on creating jobs in America” or “America will not be the global police, but yet focus on making the country better.” Then he dropped the bombs on Syria. People of both party affiliations cheered. Trump is showing the world that we will not accept inhumane behavior in foreign countries. He said that we wouldn’t be the global police. Then the bombs dropped on Afghanistan.
Am I suffering from buyer’s remorse? No. I am suffering from sucker’s remorse. Truth be told, this was the first time I ever voted for a Republican Presidential Candidate. But it will be my last. Up until this past November, being a voter of 20 years, I only ever voted for Democrats. I am done with that as well. I don’t feel as if much would be different if Hillary was elected, or Ted Cruz, or Bernie Sanders. I feel as if the two-party system has a shared agenda before we make our choice at the ballot. Their agenda is to divide and conquer, to keep the citizens fighting over social issues while they manipulate legislation to benefit Wall Street goons like Trump. The Democrats play the pacifist role, appeasing the minority groups, the impoverished and those who support equality for the impoverished and minority groups. The Republicans play the masochist role, appeasing those who benefit most from a system that thrives on oppressing the opposing group.
I am done with the two-party system. From here on out I am voting Independent/Libertarian/Constitutionalist. I am absolutely done with the duopoly in American politics. I know that the next President will not be a third party candidate. It only takes a small bit of whit to realize that the next President will be a Democrat. Trump has already set the stage for that hero. The entire campaign will be ran on the premise of being the hero that tears down the wall, that’s if Trump stays true to that ridiculous promise… a promise that will only sever any bit of relationship that America still has with the Mexican government… A promise that will all be in vain, as like I already stated, the wall will not be permanent; just a waste of tax payer dollars and resources as ultimately it will be torn down by the next elected Commander-in-Chief who sells us a polished turd that we have already purchased. So let me end this with a three word quote directed to the two-party system… “You are fired!”
P.S.
Gary Johnson,
I am sorry bro.
