Epilogue
Epilogue
English Composition I is the first of many classes I need to accomplish before petitioning to be accepted into Delaware County Community College’s nursing program. Professor Sabatino Mangini has taken an unorthodox approach with teaching this class. His methodology has taught me not only how to believe in myself through adopting the growth mindset, but how to be a successful student through out my college career. Life is about living, learning, progressing and sharing our experiences with others. Adopting the growth mindset has taught me that the only real competitor I have is myself. I should strive each day to be a better version of the person I was the day prior. Sacrifice, hard work, and failure are the ingredients in the recipe for success. Failure does not equate to falling down. Staying down and giving up define failure.
I have many years of schooling ahead of me. With the growth mindset I know I will achieve any goal that I set for myself. My education will not stop once I become a registered nurse. The medical industry demands constant education as it is constantly changing with the advancement of technology and medicine. It is my goal to push forward and obtain my bachelor and master degrees. For the past 18 years, while I lay sleeping, I have had reoccurring dreams that I was in school, unable to find my classes or remember my locker combination. Since enrolling at DCCC, the dreams have ceased. I am where I am supposed to be. The subconscious mind does not lie.
